I'm thinking about cutting my hair again, because... even though it's getting to where I can pull it back now, it's touching the back of my neck even when I do, and it's both bothering me and freaking me out. I don't know why, because it never used to bother me, but... eh. For whatever reason, now it is.

Earlier today a song came on my iTunes that... I guess I haven't listened to since I left the city. I don't even remember now which song it was or anything, but it came on, and about halfway through it made something click in my brain and for a second I was walking down the stairs to the subway at Christopher Street, and it hurt. The city's the first place I've really felt like I belonged for... years now. Feeling at home... that's a big deal for a military brat who's been moving around the country half her life. And I miss it.

And looking back, it was probably just as much or more that I had a good support system there and a group of friends I could trust with absolutely anything than the city itself, but I had to leave all of it really abruptly, and it's all one thing in my head. The city and the people and knowing what I was doing with my life and... everything.

We're moving to Arizona soon. In a few months. There is at least one good friend out there, and could possibly be more in the future, so that will help. (It will also help that it is not Florida, a place I have hated since the first time I moved here in my sophomore year.) I just want to be home again, instead of just someplace I'm staying. The nice thing about being a military brat is that it tends not to matter where, geographically, home is. The trouble is finding it.

And... I don't know... have a meme! (Kittens.)

It is Evie's birthday. She is 22 now. Meaning... ancient. (I LOVE YOU, EVIE.) Happy birthday, baby.

We've been playing a Buffy drinking game with season seven all day. Meaning, I've been in a pleasant buzz since about 5 PM.

Important points of today include:
- Realizing Evie and I really ship Anya/Willow in S7. Like... really, really hard. We haven't watched S7 a lot, but watching it now... Jesus fuck they are shippy. And we prefer them to Willow/Kennedy. So.
- Annie (ourowndragons, Rift Annie) really reminds us of Anya. And realizing this, we came up with an awesome plot for Annie and oh it is going to be so fun. Yay, demon angst!
- Sam is getting his Torchwood Four and OMG IT IS FULL OF GLEE! Revan and Juliet have been recruited, Marshall has arrived and Tosh will soon tell Sam in no uncertain terms that he needs Marshall, and YAY. It's weird, because I keep forgetting that Torchwood Four doesn't exactly exist in Torchwood canon. I have to remind myself that no, Sam/Jack is not canon, and no, Juliet cannot replace Owen in S3 because Juliet is from a totally different universe and... yes.
- Those of you I owe tags for with the Doctor and Romana? You will get them... probably tomorrow. I need to be able to think to play either of them, and it's not working so well right now.

And I totally fail at writing lately. I don't know why, and it really annoys me. I'm trying to decide whether I actually can write now, or whether I'm just slightly too tipsy to manage anything coherent. Hmm.

Also, someone clarify for me that there is no Doctor Who today? That seems to be the case, from both TVTorrents and the BBC website, I just want to... doublecheck.

I spent a while posting some old (meaning from October) Academyverse and City Magic stuff up on followedmystar, so... those of you who have it friended? Sorry if I spammed you. There are some drabbles from writing_game I'm thinking about posting too - from City Magic, Academyverse, and some verses I never developed - whenever I can decide whether or not I want to post them all in big chunks, divided up by verse, or post them separately, so I can link them more easily on my story catalog.

Speaking of which! Yes! I have a story catalog for followedmystar! Mostly because... I'm neurotic... and I'd lose my mind if things weren't in chronological order somewhere... Um. Anyway.

I need to scribble up some quick profiles for characters from On a Saturday. I've got all the constants, but only one DMA agent, which is a problem, considering the DMA wants to be the focus of the novel. So. I should do that.

My other verses need cast lists, too, but I'll get around to that later.

Before I do any of the above, I need to take some aspirin in hopes that the headache of doom leaves me alone. It's one of the ones I wake up with, which are always the most persistent and annoying. *Grumblegrowl* So yes. Aspirin (well, ibuprofen - we don't have aspirin anymore because we don't like hospital visits for Evie), and then watching S2 Buffy(because I'm finally getting around to pulling Buffy through canon in the Inn again).

I'd watch some more of The Dean Winchester Show Supernatural, except that Evie has forbidden me to do so without her. Esther, this is all your fault.

Totally unrelated to any of the above? THIS SONG. I adore this song. Right about now, this song is the sole reason I need to finish the fic in which I break Martha to bits, just so that I can write the story that comes after that fic, which was completely inspired by this song. It is just so PRETTY and really painful when you connect it to the story but OH. YES.
