Evie and Val and I went to Saundra and Roger's with the puppy last night for drinking and horror movies. There was actually only one movie that we paid absolutely no attention to, but that's not the point. It was fun, even if it did my word count no good at all. ^^

And now I'm a day behind on my word count (more or less), and flailing about that, and cramping, and kind of out of it, but there was peppermint coffee earlier today, and Evie is making brownies, so these things help a lot. I do need more painkillers, though.

Things I need to do (theoretically after catching up on NaNo):
- Draw maps for said NaNo. Riley's house, Jo's house, and the DMA office, mostly. ...A map of Kilgate would be nice too.
- Title the individual books in the DMA trilogy. Or at least the first one. HOW HARD IS IT TO FIND A TITLE?
- Write something for [livejournal.com profile] who_topia
- Read other people's NaNos. Guys, I don't suddenly hate you, I just really can't read things until I'm kind of on schedule, but I am so looking forward to catching up.
- EPIC STRIP CLUB BATTLE IN THE RIFT. ...As soon as I can make puppy eyes at Ael. This will probably actually happen whether I get caught up or not.
- ...I'm sure there's something else, but I'll remember it later.

I am not allowed to stall on writing by making icons for Buffy (who got a paid account and extra iconspace from some wonderful anonymous person). Or for Tosh (who needs icons from season two because she looks too ickle in her S1 icons). Or for the Doctor (who I tend to make icons for just because). Just... no. Writing is happening. Yes.

...Upstairs neighbors, why are you so loud? Why can there not be one hour of the day when you are not sharing your music with the entire building, or having sex in rollerblades against the wall, or bowling with elephants or whatever the HELL you do to make those noises? ladkfja;lkjfaFUCKYOU.

...I'm not moodswingy at all today.

Getting out and having fun might not have a direct effect on your word count, but stepping back for a minute can be a good thing. I'm kind of hoping that's what my NaNo is doing for my stopwatch fic, and when I go back to it, suddenly the words will flow like... something that flows easily.

This is true! I do feel a little better about things now that I've had some time away from it (I just have to keep myself from running off to work on other projects I've put aside to focus on my NaNo).

The thing I'm concerned about is that we're going to be starting our roadtrip/move toward the end of the month (just before Thanksgiving), and I would very much like to be ahead by then. Instead of... you know... a day or two behind. Like I am now.

Yes, taking all the "I spent some time not-writing so I come back refreshed for NaNo" energy and putting it into something that isn't NaNo might be a little counter-productive.

Ooooh, yes. Having a jump on that would be good. Much easier to write on a computer than in a notebook. In the car. But at my support network keeps telling me (that sounds like a NaNo-Anon or something, it's really a month-long NaNo feature in a comm I'm in), as long as you're still going at it, you're doing it, and that's better than giving up.

Drinking and horror movies > Word counts, at least a little bit anyway.

How does peppermint coffee taste. ...Well, besides like peppermint coffee? Is it worth trying to track down?

It was actually a peppermint mocha. And it's fantastic. This is my favorite time of year at Starbucks. Between that and the pumpkin spice frappuccinos... Shhh. You try not to develop an addiction when part of your college meal plan works at the Starbucks across the park from your dorm.

Pumpkin spiiiiiice, it is my love. Never tried the peppermint though but considering how much I love it it, I have a feeling you may have just egged on a new addiction. >>

*brings out the pom-poms again* I'm apparently the official NaNo cheerleader. Yay! GO AUBREY GO! Rah-rah... Whatever. XD ♥!

....I think I actually did have something substantial to say, but then I completely forgot what it was. Dammit. Oh well. HAVE A RANDOM COMMENT FULL OF LOVE AND ENCOURAGEMENT.

EPIC STRIP CLUB BATTLE YAY.

I don't know when I'll be on for that (am on campus now, but my evening class has been canceled so I'll be back earlier! w00t!) but I will find a way to do it even if I have to forsake NaNo for the day. Although this may mean that my "Jack and Hart go bar brawling" scene gets written a lot sooner than I was planning. XD

or having sex in rollerblades against the wall

... am I the only one who read this and thought, "Hm ... where can I find a couple of pairs of rollerblades on the cheap?"

*Snort* Possibly.

I'm not certain, but that's sure as hell what it sounded like. It didn't sound like it was going well either.
