I AM SITTING AT MY DESK. IN MY BEDROOM. WITH THE COMPUTER PLUGGED IN. IT IS A GLORIOUS FEELING.

...something about the current arrangement of the room, with the desk in the bedroom and all also makes me feel like I'm sixteen again and I don't know why. We shall disregard that feeling for the moment.

I haven't really been able to focus on anything today. I managed to beta a fic for [livejournal.com profile] lionessvalenti, and I cleaned up the cast list because [livejournal.com profile] _chibidragon_ reminded me that hey, I was going to finish the activity check... yesterday, but besides that? Cannot pay attention to anything for longer than five, maybe ten minutes. It sucks.

You should all go look at the cast list though, because it's just so pretty. I shoved Julia and Martin to NPC status - Julia because I can't keep her active but I do want a first angel still in Chicago, Martin because all his CR keeps dropping or dying, but I couldn't convince him to go to Colombia. Yeah, now he gets attached to Chicago. Go figure. So now I have thirteen characters, and two of those are doomed to die (or... something) at some point in the nearish future. \o/

And... both Twitter and LJ notifications are failing me today, so if I seem like I'm ignoring you or your tags or anything today, I'm not. Technology just hates me.

...yeah, I'm gonna go write now. Or at least pretend to until I have to fall into bed. I'm getting really good at that "pretending to write" thing. Not so much the actual writing.

EDIT: Okay, I forgot that it is still cold at night, and the bedroom with the door closed is cut off from any source of heat. BRB, finding ways to not freeze to death.

Today, I:
- Woke up and realized the world was covered in snow. Usually when I say this, it's an exaggeration, but no. The snow comes up to our windows. Our Jeep is buried. It's deeper than the dog is tall. The world is covered in snow.
- Had to awkwardly excavate the door so that I could actually open it. I managed, which is good, because I would hate to call the landlord I can't stand to rescue us.
- Climbed up the eight-foot-tall hill made by the snow plow. And then promptly fell down it, thankfully without injuring myself in any way.
- Passed out for six-ish hours when I only meant to take an hour nap. I woke up achy all over, probably from climbing through thigh-deep snow earlier.

Today, I did not:
- Write anything at all. I plan to get to this soon. Hopefully.
- Tag, though I am remedying that now. Somewhat. It's slow, because I'm still having character voice issues.
- Build a snow fort. Though I really wanted to. It was just dark by the time I woke up from my nap of doom. :(

1. Reply to this post with 'Icons!', and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will - allegedly - create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

TW: Don't leave Torchwood in charge
I love Torchwood. I really, really do. But on occasion, they have so much fail. This icon may've been related to a fic of some sort (which I have never read), but mostly, I just like the sentiment. It extends to Torchwood Chicago, and is occasionally used in defense of/to mock them (considering I play half of Torchwood... it's necessary). Also useful for when I want to spaz at the huge, gaping plotholes in Torchwood canon...

S60*M: I'll make a friend of you yet
I was so hoping someone would ask about this one. Studio 60 is my show. The show I watched since the beginning and loved dearly and still hold a grudge against NBC for cancelling. It's a show about a weekly SNL-style sketch comedy show, and Matt Albie, the head writer, has a huge red countdown clock in his office that counts down the days, hours, minutes and seconds to the next show. And it's usually something that he'll look up and glare at, like the continued rotation of the earth is that countdown clock's very own personal insult to him, but in the last episode, he walks over and reaches up to touch it. "I'll make a friend of you yet." That just... pretty much covers my relationship with writing on a schedule, with writing at all. I LOVE this icon.

And more! So many more! From Jaqui and Chris. )

I spent my morning making a header for a new layout! ...because I've been wanting one for a while now, and finally got bothered enough to MAKE it. I'm especially amused because all the links on the layout I picked out are ZYDRATE BLUE, and I didn't realize that until I set it up.

This is also, incidentally, the first layout I've had in over a year that actually has the REASON for my username in it. That line used to be in all my headers. ^^

And now I'm going to actually... you know... write stuff. If I can get my brain to focus on anything at all. Hey, there are alphabet drabbles that still need doing...
