I always loved what they did with Spike - it makes me sad when I run across the idea that the development was rubbish and uninteresting and pathetic. You can see the seeds for where he goes right back in Season Two dammit.
And totally agreement about the Master (although my preference tends to run to Delgado before Simm!) It's so much fun.
Dead Like Me! Dead Like Me is well worth watching if you find the time - it's absolutely brilliant fun, great black humour.
