So Evie and I might actually have a car soon. This is awesome! Not only in that we can, you know, get groceries and stuff, but soon we will be able to move. Road trip ZOMGYAY! I'm less enthused about a road trip in winter, as... Midwest... winter... not exactly a combination conducive to driving and I really don't fancy the idea of dying in a blizzard somewhere, but... still. And there will hopefully be visiting a few people who are (kind of sort of) on the way, so that is fantastic.
About the Doctor Who news, I'm surprisingly calm. A part of this just might be that I was honestly pretty sure he wasn't going to live through the end of S4 since... early on in that season. The Tenth Doctor? Yeah, I know it's a weird question to ask in this fandom, in this context, but... honestly, don't you think he looks tired? And you can't blame him, when every season ends with him sad and alone on the TARDIS. He's always been one to take insane risks, but since Doomsday he's done quite a few things that were patently suicidal.
So as much as I'm going to miss the character - I adore him, he is my Doctor and always will be - I think he needs to be someone else as much as David Tennant needs to move on from the role. I'm okay with him dying. Now, when it actually comes down to it, I'm going to flail and cry and I've got some strong opinions about how he should die and God, Rusty, don't you fuck this up, but... I'm okay with it.
Although now I'm seriously never going to be able to let the Doctor regenerate in
beyondtherift, just like I can't ever kill Tosh there. Even if I could bring myself to it, I think several people would get together and murder me, and they would never find my body.
I've been poking at my NaNo the past few days, and I'm so ready for it to be November. Not every bit of the plot is hammered out, but I expect it'll fall into place when I need it to (it usually does, during NaNo), so come on, let's do this already! ...Yes, I'm upset with the world for not revolving faster. Or something.
Again, if you want to watch it, I'm going to be posting it over at
onasaturday. Which right now just has a bunch of character profiles and worldbuilding information, but thaaat's not the point at all. Join the comm if you'd like to read my NaNo (it has zombies!) - it's moderated membership, but if you're on my flist, I'll let you in.
Here, have a meme from

Date: 2008-10-30 11:51 pm (UTC)Though I was reading one article that had a side-bar of "potential" new Doctors and one of them was John Simm and I was like "Hi, confuse the viewers to death, much?"
And MEMEMEME!

Date: 2008-10-31 12:08 am (UTC)And yes, I heard about that. I would actually not mind a Simm!Doctor - a large part of that is probably just that I'm so in awe of John Simm's talent that I badly want to see what he would do with it. It's not like Time Lords regenerating into a face identical to someone they've met before is unheard of... (After all, one of the people that's at the top of the list when people speculate on Eleven is the guy who played Rodrick in Bad Wolf - as well as the Marquis in "Neverwhere". I'm kinda "meh" about the idea of him as the Doctor, but whatever.)
Chances are, when we get an Eleven, it's going to be totally out of the blue and not on anyone's lists. I'm pretty sure David wasn't on anyone's list before he was cast, and he's brilliant. Plus, I really liked the descriptions of Moffat's Doctor in "Silence in the Library"/"Forest of the Dead". Really liked it. What can I say, I'm a sucker for the Doctor being just that badass - which Ten quite often is, but... yes.
Aaaannd... god, that's hard. I love so many of your icons.
I've always loved this one:
And for some reason, I did a happy flail when I saw this one for the first time:

Date: 2008-10-31 12:16 am (UTC)Yeah, I'm for all new and out of the blue when it comes to just about anything. It makes for more-fun speculation, I think. And a different kind of expectation, because you don't know where they'll take it, instead of getting an idea of how it'll be done - and often being completely wrong and/or disappointed.
I don't know what got into me, but I'm all about the Jack/Rose. The post I got that icon from had like 5 icons that were pretty similar to that one, and I saved them ALL. I'll probably be using more of them, too.

Date: 2008-10-31 01:01 am (UTC)(Rrrrh. I don't know if you guys should bother coming this way if you were still planning on it as... There would be no place for two girls and a dog to STAY around here and it'd probably be a big waste of effort, which is a shame, because I WANT AN AUBREY AND EVIE. *pouts* Stupid lack of... A place of my own.)
And YES. NANO. SHOULD HAPPEN. I'm ready, dammit.
And because I'm here... THE MEME, BOSS, THE MEME!
