Ahah. [livejournal.com profile] writerinadrawer is up. Last five out of fifty writers. And every single time voting goes up, I get more and more spazzy than the last time. *Grin*

If anyone wants to vote, the entries post is here, the voting post here. They're five things fics, which are always fun, and it's anonymous, so if you vote me out, I won't know about it.

My glasses broke yesterday. Just one of the nose pieces, but it won't go back on and stay, and it's really irritating. So I asked my dad if my health insurance covers new glasses, and if it does, Evie is so taking me out to get that done on her next day off. I really hope it does, because... annoying nose piece breakage aside, I think I need a new prescription. Just slightly. And I've had these glasses since the last time I lived in Tampa, which was... a while ago.

I think now I'm going to go get coffee, and then poke at some of my Rift characters to see if anyone but Gwen wants to make a post. I know Sam does, but that may just be because he wants a Gene, and I'm not sure that can be arranged just yet.

*Snickerfit* How did I know that was coming? Even though I didn't even mention him or the show in the actual post, I knew it would happen. *♥s you so much*

Hey, you know me, I've gotta have my routine. It's like slowly phasing from sloppies into suits by Friday.

...if that makes any sense. Not that it has to, but. (Btw, I know Evie's current with canon -- are you?)

ANYWAY. New glasses are lovely! I need them too, though not quite as desperately. (That is the only other content in your post I can actually relate to! You and your DW and TW. <3333)

...I'll just pretend that made sense and move on. (I am! And kinda wish I weren't because GAH. Being fannish about TV things in summertime SUCKS.)

Yeeees. I probably should have asked about the damn glasses earlier than now - I kept thinking about it and never... doing it. As usual, I require something actually breaking before I go "...Ah fuck. Help?"

Suits! SUITS. You always wear suits before the show goes up! On Thursday it's suits with Chucks, and then it's actual suits when you air. SUITS. *gesticulates!*

(It does. Ohgod, it really, really, really does.)

Iiiii have been wearing the same contacts for about a month now. That's gonna need to change real soon. Yay, deteriorating vision! Thank you, Jebus, for computers.

I'm debating now whether it might be necessary to have an intervention to remove Matt Albie from your brain. I think at this point it might be a lost cause, though.

Ahah. Procrastination for the win. OR SOMETHING. Except where the part where clear vision is nice to have.

Yeah, that would be a textbook example of "lost cause" right there.

Now I am trolling websites and being completely grumpy about not owning S60 on DVD and not having seen it in forever and ever because I only have the second half on my computer and it just HURTS STILL and augh. Boys.

You don't own S60 on DVD? That is WRONG and should be fixed. *Cling* Life is better with the boys. Trufax.

My disc drive has been broken for the past year and I don't own a TV! It's horrifying. Next month, though -- next month this will be fixed.

Iiiiii wish that was multi-fandom.

Because that looks -awesome-, but I don't know TW. Can someone start another for the rest of us plebes?

From: [identity profile] allfireburns.livejournal.com
If I had time to run a new comm, I would actually consider starting one. It really is an awesome idea. The only problem with a multifandom comm of that sort is that voting would be HELL, because it's so hard to get people to read fic that's not in their fandoms, and you'd just know there would be some people who'd just vote for fics in their fandoms rather than the best fic overall... It's bad enough in WIAD getting people to vote for pairings they don't share - or not to vote against pairings that are generally hated just because it is that pairing, regardless of the quality of the writing.

True.

Bah. Iiiiiii still want to try this. *makesaface*

... you know, if you wanted to do, say, a Rift one, I'd run it for you all.

I know. There HAS to be a way to make it work. Somehow.

Oh my God, don't TEMPT me. Though that would be AWESOME and... Mmmph. I may mention that to some of the others and see what they think about it. Because OH MY GOD IT IS FUN.

*teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeempts*

It would be shorter because there's less people in the Rift, and, well, yeah.

Also.... yeah. I'm totally objective because I don't know anything! I don't even get a vote!

*Flailyhands* Foul temptress! I'll mention it to Evie when she gets back and see what she thinks. And then prod the people most likely to participate and see what THEY think... Damn it, why are almost none of my kids around now? It's almost 5:00!

I'm rather enjoying [livejournal.com profile] lastficstanding -- which gets rid of the people-not-reading-fics-outside-their-fandoms by requiring responses to all the fics, so.
