I have been plotting for [livejournal.com profile] tardis_bigbang. It's kind of exhausting. Okay, really exhausting. But I have made some progress! (And found an excuse to include one of my favorite minor characters!) Still haven't figured out how to work my way from the middle bits to the very ending bit, but... I'm poking at that.

Papel is kind of an awesome program for plotting. It's like index cards, but without the stress and hassle and dropping them on the floor. I would be so much more aggravated with life, the universe and everything if I didn't have this to help with the plotting.

More and more, I'm concerned with the length of this. I don't mind if it gets epic, just... not so epic that I can't write it before the deadline. GAH.

Also, I've got to stop listening to Jonathan Coulton. If only because the Doctor keeps grabbing songs for his playlists, and it's getting a little ridiculous.

EDIT: I am not allowed to include a subplot based on this song. I'm just NOT.

XD If the Doctor steals "Ikea," it's time to slap his hand away from the cookie jar, and by cookie jar, I mean the Jonathan Coulton.

Yay progress! ....And oh God, that thing looks amazing. I may have to invest in that for when I have... Things. And stuff. ...I'm full of articulate.

*Giggles* He has not yet, no. He's taken "I Feel Fantastic". And he has "I'm Your Moon" and "When You Go" for Rose. And "Skullcrusher Mountain" was already on my Doctor/Master playlist, but that's more because the Master likes it. ...Yeah.

From: [identity profile] kawaiispinel.livejournal.com
XD Mac occasionally sings "Ikea" when I think about how we're going to blow up her apartment so she has to move into the Kashtta, although it's more like, "IKEEEEEA, IKEEEEA, I'VE NEVER BEEN TO IKEEEEA. WHY DO THE CRAZY APARTMENT-BOMBING SOCIOPATHS TARGET ME?"

...Mac's intense love affair with capslock is my favorite thing ever, but I digress.

...The Master WOULD like that song. *Snorts* I considered putting it on my Sark and Sydney playlist just for the lulz, but they both looked at me like they'd tear my arms off and beat me... So I didn't.

Oh, Mac. You are my FAVORITE.

That song would be awesome for Sark and Sydney. ...or maybe I'm just a dork. But REALLY SARK. Why would you NOT want that song?

I LOVE HER SO MUCH. She's of the crazy, but any character who can honestly claim to be in a loving relationship with Capslock is awesome.

BECAUSE IT IMPLIES THAT HE'S A MAD SCIENTIST WHO LIVES ON A MOUNTAIN AND KIDNAPS GIRLS AND MAKES THEM MONKEY/PONY HYBRIDS? ...Oh wait, you're not, Sark? Pssh.

They do have The Masochism Tango! That makes it better.

EDIT: They also, apparently, have "No Children," which I don't remember putting on there. Then again, I don't remember putting half the songs on that playlist on that playlist. I think I made it in my sleep.

Hee. The Doctor and the Master have "No Children" too. It is deliciously fucked up. And now that you mention it, I really like it for Sark and Sydney toooo...

Also, OH PLEASE, SARK. LIKE YOU WOULDN'T MAKE ALL THE MONKEY/PONY HYBRIDS IF YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD GET YOU SYDNEY'S LOVE?

Date: 2009-02-17 10:35 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kawaiispinel.livejournal.com
WHY ARE SARK AND SYDNEY SHARING ALL THE DOCTOR/MASTER SONGS? ...Not that it doesn't make some sense. And sometimes Sark is the Master... Except not, because thinking about that too long makes me want to CRY, but.

They have a ridiculous number of snarky songs. And then they have songs like "Pirate on the Run" that are adorable. And then they have "Victim of Love," which is like the middle ground between SNARK and ADORABLE. Oh kids, you have the special.

XD And Sark just throws his hands in the air and walks off, muttering to himself. Like he do.

Rawr. FAIL. I have the same frustration there - Evie has Scrivener, and I BADLY want it, but it doesn't work on PCs. If I had any suggestions for Macs, I would offer them, but... I know little about what writing software is out there. ♥

Also, that is AWESOME. Rift icons for the WIN.

I use Scrivener (http://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener.html) myself, on my mac. It doesn't have the nice disorganized feel to it, but it helped me plan and keep writing my Nano for a good chunk of the month (other things conspired to drain my creative drive - that was not one of them), and it's great for planning and can be easily used for big papers and stuff.

Granted, it's only a 30-day free trial, then you have to pay $36, but it's SO worth it. Really. I love Scrivener.

True. Because you can't just download it and go to sleep, no, you have to PLAY WITH IT. Trust me on this one.

But it was a LIFESAVER for Nano, I probably wouldn't have broken 15k without it. As it stands, I got 28k (though most of it's crap).
