allfireburnsSeriously, WTF. There has never been an episode of Doctor Who where I could do nothing but stare in horror. I mean, I enjoyed TINKERBELL JESUS DOCTOR, okay? (I still do, but that's a story for another day.) But... that's kind of what I ended up doing here.
I just... bad writing. BAD. WRITING. On top of some really uncomfortable gender things, and the... GIANT MECHA CYBERMAN? SERIOUSLY? How do you get AWAY with that? Rusty, the Doctor saying "Well" is not an explanation for why there is nothing about a GIANT MECHA CYBERMAN in history books.
I. JUST. WHAT.
RAAAAGE.
It's possible I'm just crotchety right now, but NO. I was so hoping he didn't end up sad and alone on the TARDIS again, so the fact that he didn't is... a plus, and there were some cute moments with the Doctor, but mostly... I so don't want to watch this episode ever again. It. Just. WHY DOES IT EXIST?
...I'm going to have to go watch some good Doctor Who later tonight to restore my faith in things.
