Say it with me now: wibbly wobbly timey wimey.

So. I wrote a fic. Set between the end of Parting of the Ways and the beginning of Torchwood. Jack is in WWI. It makes reference to the Doctor and Rose. I get this comment:

Just one thing: i think Rose and Jack met during WW2 and this is WW1...

Why are people dumb? WHY?

That's... really all I can say right now.

It's A SHOW ABOUT TIME TRAVEL. How do their brains cope with it?

I WAS WONDERING THAT. ...And then decided I didn't want to think too hard about it, because it would make me lose faith in people. I like my faith in people and want to keep it.

Faith in humanity... Oh yeah, I remember that.

I stared at the email notification for a second and then started laughing. I kind of have to laugh or I will have to... I don't know... hit things.

*headdesk*

The best part? It's not "Rose and Jack met during WWII", it's "I think Rose and Jack met during WWII". They don't even know! People are such dumbasses.

...You know, I didn't even process that part of it until now. What? Did the barrage balloons and the Blitz and Jack's outfit... EVERYTHING not give it away? Oh, fandom. I just... *Shakes head sadly*

That's when you make a remark like: "Yes, I know, it's WWI -- you know, the one that got started when Archie Duke shot an ostrich because he was hungry?" And watch their brains explode. ^______^

(BTW, if you've never seen Blackadder, that was Baldrick's intepretation of "when the arch-duke of Austrio-Hungary got shot." It makes about as much sense as fandom, really. ;))

*Snerk* What I ended up doing was pulling out the "the history of the 20th century as according to Jack Harkness" card and somehow managed to refrain from calling her an idiot. Just barely.

Ahahahaha, I'd have gone for the squareness gun, fictional or not. Although I suppose in order disintegrate someone's mind, they'd have to have one first. O_o

Where may I go to read this fic, please?

Wibbly wobbly linky winky?
